PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Special Operations Certification (SOC) is awarded to Deputies who have demonstrated proficiency in advanced law enforcement tactics and specialized operational procedures. SOC-certified Deputies may be utilized during high-risk incidents requiring additional training and operational capabilities.


POLICY

SOC-certified Deputies shall utilize their training responsibly and only within the scope authorized by department policy.


RESPONSIBILITIES

SOC-certified Deputies may:


  • Assist during high-risk incidents.
  • Support warrant service operations.
  • Assist with tactical planning.
  • Provide specialized support during critical incidents.
  • Work alongside other specialized units when authorized.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

SOC personnel shall complete department-approved training and maintain proficiency in assigned operational duties.


CERTIFICATION REMOVAL

SOC certification may be revoked due to inactivity, misconduct, failure to maintain standards, or at the discretion of Command Staff.
