PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This policy establishes procedures for Internal Affairs investigations.

POLICY

Internal Affairs investigations shall be conducted professionally, objectively, and without bias.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal Affairs Investigators shall:

• Gather relevant facts.
• Interview involved parties.
• Review available evidence.
• Maintain detailed investigative records.
• Submit findings to Command Staff.

INVESTIGATIVE INTEGRITY

Investigators shall not intentionally withhold, alter, or misrepresent evidence or investigative findings.
