8.3 Administrative Investigations

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This policy establishes standards for administrative investigations conducted by OPS.

POLICY

Administrative investigations shall be conducted to determine whether a Deputy violated department policy, procedures, or standards of conduct.

INVESTIGATIVE AUTHORITY

OPS Investigators may:

• Review reports and records.
• Conduct interviews.
• Collect evidence.
• Request statements from involved personnel.
• Make recommendations to Command Staff.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Information obtained during administrative investigations shall be treated as confidential and shared only with authorized personnel.
