7.5 Search Warrants

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This policy establishes procedures regarding the preparation and execution of search warrants.

POLICY

Search warrants shall be obtained and executed in accordance with applicable laws and department policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CID Deputies shall:

• Establish probable cause.
• Prepare warrant documentation.
• Coordinate warrant service operations.
• Ensure evidence is properly collected and documented.

EXECUTION

Search warrants shall be executed in a safe and professional manner while minimizing risk to the public and law enforcement personnel.
