6.4 Motor Unit Special Assignments

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Motor Deputies may be assigned specialized duties requiring advanced motorcycle proficiency and traffic management skills.

POLICY

Motor Unit personnel may be utilized for traffic saturation patrols, escort operations, special events, and other assignments as determined by the department.

ESCORT OPERATIONS

Motor Deputies may provide escorts for official department functions, funeral processions, dignitary movements, and other approved events.

PATROL SUPPORT

Motor Deputies may assist patrol personnel with traffic incidents, vehicle pursuits, road closures, and other enforcement activities requiring specialized traffic management.

SUPERVISION

Motor Unit operations shall be conducted under the direction of the designated Motor Unit Supervisor and in accordance with department policy.
