PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This policy establishes standards for traffic enforcement activities.

POLICY

Traffic enforcement shall be conducted to promote roadway safety and encourage voluntary compliance with traffic laws.

ENFORCEMENT ACTION

Deputies may:

• Issue citations.
• Issue warnings.
• Conduct traffic stops.
• Investigate traffic violations.

PROFESSIONALISM

Traffic enforcement shall be conducted fairly, impartially, and without bias.
